Christmas Newsletter 2007

Merry Christmas! We hope this note finds you all doing well. This year has brought many surprises for us, but many blessings as well.

As many of you know, Kevin and I were in the adoption process to get a little girl from Kazakhstan. We got pregnant over the summer, and so our adoption agency made us delay the adoption. We were really disappointed not to adopt right now, but excited about the new life God was giving us. As the Lord leads, we will try to adopt again in the future.

But until then, we are looking forward to Sarah Elizabeth Shorter (we'll call her Elizabeth) coming to join our family the beginning of February. Please join us in praying for a safe and healthy delivery and baby!

Rachel is now 2 1/2 and full of life. She is so much fun, and a real joy. Some of her favorite things right now are coloring, watching Barney, playing with our next door neighbors, and going places where she can play with boys and girls (like the YMCA, church, etc.). She is very social and loves people. As she ages, she definitely is pulling me out of my shell as she enjoys talking to and waving to strangers wherever we go. Her favorite phrase is "I do it all myself!". Rachel is excited about Elizabeth coming into our family, and she will rub my belly and tell her "Good morning," "Sleep well," "I love you, Elzabth," and, "Have fun swimming." I think she will be a wonderful, helpful, and loving big sister!

Kevin is still enjoying his job at Bridgetree in their marketing department. He likes the work as well as being able to work at home much of the time.

And I am blessed to be able to stay home with Rachel and prepare for her sister to come be with us too. I do things throughout the week that are fun like Bible study at church with other young moms, mentoring a Campus Crusade staff lady, and of course coloring and running errands!

Our lives are richly blessed, and we have so much to be grateful for. We hope you enjoy time this week with family and friends celebrating Jesus' birth!

With much love,

Kevin, Alli, Rachel, (and Elizabeth)
